It seems we can look to Tim Gopsill, editor of the UK journalists' union's house magazine. for even more fatuous justifications for Palestinian terrorism than he was prepared to offer on Monday. Then, he justified the NUJ's motion committing to boycott Israeli goods by acknowledging it was a quid pro quo payback to the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate for their support in the campaign to free kidnapped BBC Gaza correspondent, Alan Johnston.
Today, and wholly unlike the PJS, he takes the line of apologetics for the terrorists who kidnapped him:
"Taking Alan Johnston [captive]," he said, "demonstrates the Palestinians' desperate way of drawing attention to their problems."
By contrast, the PJS press release sternly repudiates such apologetics, hinting at blaming it on Israel:
some parties or individuals try to undermine the Palestinian consensus and trifle with it through kidnapping foreign journalists . kidnapping of our colleague Allan Johnston is part of this series of crimes aiming to harm the Palestinian people and serve the enemies of our people .Such an act does not serve the Palestinian cause .It harms it in all international activities . kidnapping Johnston is the biggest service by the kidnappers to Israel
Maybe Tim Gopsill is secretly in the pay of Mossad?
