Wish I had been at the discussion, but have loved cahtcing up on everyone's thoughts. I tend to agree that the ending seemed to wrap things up quickly. She kept discovering little truths and I expected that pace to continue rather than everything falling into place in a few pages. I, like many others, thought the author was a woman, but it just impresses me more than it wasn't.I sometimes got frustrated at recapping things that I already knew, but I think it was necessary in order to feel some of the same frustration that Christine must have felt. The hopelessness of her character really drew me in; despite the fact that I couldn't relate to her situation, I related to her. We all feel out of control in our lives at times and grasp at the past for answers in the future. Overall I found that it was beautifully written and I didn't put it down very often!Huge thanks to Steph for organising The Book Salon I will make sure I'm here for the live discussion next month.
